AfterUHP Surface Preparation
Denholm MacNamee Limited specialise in the surface preparation of various material in both Onshore and Offshore locations.
Typical surface preparation techniques involve the removal of damaged coatings, corrosion, PFP etc by means of the following equipment:
Abrasive Blasting of new manufactured pipe-work and Spools to the required specifications (Photo 1).
Medias used:
- “J” Blast
- Garnet
- Olivine
Surface preparation of material using HP water with entrained garnet to remove corrosion, paint and dirt for NDT or UV Inspection. Photo 2 shows the finish achieved on Inconal Flare Tip components.
Photo 3 shows surface preparation of “dome” ends using UHP water to remove carbon deposits, corrosion, paint and grime to allow for NDT Inspection.
